Sarah Magee
Co-founder, Director & Chief Commercial Officer
Sarah is a highly experienced senior corporate executive, with years of experience in the commercial delivery of medical support and related services to the global aviation industry. She was previously Commercial Aviation Director for Philips RDT, and has an extensive background in international sales and marketing, operations management and business development. She is a co-founder of Flightcare Global.
Dr David Newman
Co-founder & Chief Executive Officer
Dr Newman is an internationally-recognized aviation medicine specialist with 30 years of experience, and also an experienced company director. His work involves high-level consulting and advisory services to various private and public-sector organizations and government agencies on a global basis. He has also been involved as an expert consultant in a number of international multi-modal transport safety investigations.
He previously served in the Royal Australian Air Force for 13 years as a military officer and aviation medicine specialist. His RAAF career, in Australia and on exchange in the UK, included 3 years in support of tactical fighter operations and 2 years as Chief Instructor at the RAAF Institute of Aviation Medicine. He has a medical degree from Monash University, a Diploma in Aviation Medicine from the Royal College of Physicians of London, an MBA from Deakin University, a PhD from the University of Newcastle and the Company Directors Course Diploma from the Australian Institute of Company Directors. He is a qualified USAF Flight Surgeon, and a pilot with flying experience in a range of civilian and military aircraft including the F/A-18 Hornet, the Hawk T1 and the Harrier. He is also a Visiting Professor of Aerospace Medicine at Kings College London. He sits on the boards of several private companies and a charitable foundation. He is a co-founder of Flightcare Global.
He is a Fellow of the Aerospace Medical Association, the Australian Institute of Company Directors and the Governance Institute of Australia, and in 2020 he was admitted to Honorary Fellowship of the Royal Aeronautical Society for his extensive contributions to aerospace medicine over many decades.
Dr Simon May
Co-founder & Non-Executive Director
Simon is a specialist physician in Aviation Medicine having initially trained in Paediatrics, Intensive Care and Anesthesia, with a particular interest in aeromedical work. He has experience in assistance medicine with the International SOS Group. For the last decade Simon has focused on aviation medicine and has held medical management roles at Qantas, Virgin Australia and Qatar Airways. At Virgin Australia, he developed a medical department from scratch and at Qatar Airways introduced an aviation medicine department into the group. Simon is expert in all areas of passenger and crew health and takes a risk based approach to management of health issues in aviation.
Over his time in the industry Simon has managed medical support for full service carriers, low cost carriers, Business Jet operators and VVIP fleets both in Australasia and the Middle East.
Simon has specialist qualifications in Aviation and Occupational Medicine and is licensed to practice in Australia, the United Kingdom and the Middle East. He is a regular speaker at international meetings in the field of commercial aviation medicine and teaches postgraduate courses in aviation medicine.
James Walker
Non-Executive Director
James is an entrepreneurial and passionate director & business executive who thrives on commercialising technology and building new global markets. He has extensive experience across a wide range of international high growth businesses, including a deal tech, AI based neobank, drone detection and countermeasures technology, sensor systems, mining technology services, automotive, aviation, biotechnology, hotel telemarketing and security sectors.
He has completed multiple M&A transactions, ASX IPO listings, follow-on share placements and other capital raisings for private companies as well as ASX and London (AIM) listed companies.
Andrew Beer
Non-Executive Director
Andy has had a 30-year career in global aviation across various fields including banking, commercial aircraft leasing, aircraft engines and in the military. His current position is Managing Director of Aviation Finance for Standard Chartered Bank, leading their Asian finance, leasing and advisory business. He has previously worked for AWAS which was then a top 5 aircraft leasing company and Intrepid Aviation, then a ‘start up’ in the aircraft leasing space. In addition, he spent time at GE Aviation where he held a commercial role in the engine and services business. His aviation career started in the Royal Australian Air Force, where he served as a fighter pilot. He has worked and lived across many different geographies including Singapore, the UK, Saudi Arabia and South Africa. As a non-executive director of Flightcare Global, Andy brings extensive finance and aviation industry knowledge and has personally invested in the company.

Lisa McPherson
Chief Operations Officer
Lisa has 15 years experience in global insurance and medical operations. She has held previous management roles with nib in Australia and Emirates Airline in Dubai. Lisa is responsible for the Flightcare Global worldwide provider network, 24/7 response capability and our performance against our set service levels.
Dr Mark Popplestone
Chief Medical Adviser
Mark has been involved in Aviation Medicine for over 20 years, working in senior positions at British Airways, Virgin Atlantic Airways and Qatar Airways. In addition to extensive experience in the regulatory aspects of pilot fitness, he has always had a particular interest in the effective management of in flight medical emergencies.
Bronwyn Rodgers
Head of Passenger Screening and Training (UK)
Bronwyn has a background in nursing, emergency care and managed healthcare. She has over 30 years experience in the Aeromedical Sector including passenger health management roles with both Emirates Airline and Qatar Airways. Bronwyn is responsible for Flightcare Global operations in the UK, allowing senior oversight 24/7, passenger screening and crew training.
